Indications for Use
This Brava® protective ring is intended for people with a stoma looking to improve the seal of their system by filling in skin irregularities around the stoma. It can be particularly useful in cases of moist peristomal skin, premature adhesive breakdown, irregularly shaped stomas, or pronounced or deep skin folds. Its mouldable texture allows it to be shaped by hand to fit folds, scars, or skin depressions, helping reduce the risk of leakage between the stoma and the skin barrier. The larger diameter (34mm) is particularly suited to larger-calibre stomas.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 2.5mm and 4.2mm thickness at the same diameter?
The thin 2.5mm thickness (ref. 12039) suits lighter skin irregularities, while the 4.2mm thickness (ref. 12049) at the same diameter provides more pronounced filling for more marked irregularities.
Does this ring replace my usual skin barrier?
No, it is used in addition to the skin barrier to improve the seal and fill in skin irregularities around the stoma.
Can this ring be cut or shaped as needed?
Yes, its mouldable texture allows it to be adjusted by hand to fit the specific shape and needs of the stoma.
