The Beginning
The First Stomo Medical Store
Stomo Medical opens its first store on Saint-Martin Boulevard West in Laval. The company quickly develops expertise in providing ostomy supplies along with personalized guidance and support for ostomy care.

A New Territory
In January 2014, Stomo Medical continued its expansion by opening a second store in Longueuil. This new location allowed the company to bring its expertise and outstanding customer service to customers throughout Montreal's South Shore.

In April 2016, Stomo Medical relocated to its new facility on Jean-Béraud Avenue in Laval. The new location features a larger, modern showroom, allowing customers to explore our full range of specialized medical supplies in a more comfortable setting.

What Are the Delivery Times?

Is Financial Assistance Available for People Living with an Ostomy?
Yes. In Quebec, the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) offers a financial assistance program for people living with an ostomy. This program helps cover the cost of purchasing or replacing ostomy pouches and other ostomy-related supplies.
The amount of financial assistance and the frequency of payments depend on whether your ostomy is temporary or permanent.

Can I View My Previous Orders?

Will I Need to Change My Diet After Ostomy Surgery?
Most people with a colostomy or ileostomy can continue eating much as they did before surgery. However, you may need to make a few dietary adjustments to help manage certain issues.
Gas
Eat meals at regular times.
Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly.
Limit foods that commonly cause gas, such as beans, cabbage, and carbonated beverages.
Odor
Reduce foods that may increase odor, including eggs, onions, fish, and fried foods.
Consider using ostomy odor eliminators to help control odors.
Stoma Blockage
Drink plenty of fluids.
Limit foods that may increase the risk of blockage or irritation, such as foods with seeds (for example tomatoes and strawberries), nuts, and corn.
Are There Clothing Products Designed Specifically for People with an Ostomy?
Yes. There are ostomy belts and specially designed underwear that provide greater security, comfort, discretion, and support for people living with an ostomy.
In addition to our Omnigon ostomy underwear, Stomo Medical also offers an exclusive 2-inch wide ostomy belt, adjustable from 30 to 70 inches, providing optimal comfort and support. It is compatible with both one-piece and two-piece ostomy systems.
Using an Intermittent Catheter While Traveling or Away from Home
Many people choose different types of catheters depending on whether they are at home or on the go.
Uncoated intermittent catheters, used with a catheter lubricant, can be a more economical option. However, they require additional preparation before use.
